Last week, I had the privilege of attending SuiteConnect in Sydney, NetSuite’s premier event for showcasing its latest innovations tailored to the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) market. I arrived eager to see how NetSuite’s advancements could further empower our clients, and I wasn’t disappointed: what we got was a compelling demonstration of technology, strategy, and ambition, all aligned with the needs of ANZ businesses.
That wasn’t all: Evan Goldberg himself was in attendance, signalling how important our region is to NetSuite.
A showcase of success in Sydney
SuiteConnect Sydney buzzed with energy as industry leaders, finance professionals, and technology experts gathered to explore NetSuite’s evolving ecosystem. The turnout was impressive, a clear signal of the growing appetite for solutions that streamline operations and drive growth. This event isn’t just about unveiling features – it’s about setting a new benchmark for what ANZ businesses can achieve with the right tools. The enthusiasm underscored NetSuite’s role in our region’s business landscape.
For those who don’t know Evan, he cofounded NetSuite some 25 years ago and still remains very involved to this day as Executive Vice President, Oracle NetSuite Global Business Unit. That’s both impressive and remarkable; among the comments he made at SuiteConnect was an affirmation of our region’s place on NetSuite’s agenda: “We continue to support the changing business needs of customers of all sizes in Australia and New Zealand,” he said.
NetSuite’s growth and Oracle’s commitment
One of the standout takeaways is the sheer scale of NetSuite’s expansion. With over 41,000 customers globally and a rapidly increasing presence in ANZ, the platform’s momentum is undeniable.
Conversations with NetSuite representatives highlighted Oracle’s substantial investment as the driving force behind this growth. From AI to region-specific enhancements, Oracle is keeping NetSuite at the forefront of cloud ERP. Oracle’s dedication to NetSuite equips us with a platform that’s not just robust but forward-looking, perfectly suited to your ambitions for better managed business.
Enterprise Performance Management: A financial game-changer
Demonstrations of NetSuite Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) showcased its ability to unify financial and operational planning, automate account reconciliation, expedite the close process, and enhance tax and narrative reporting.
ANZ organisations, the localised features – such as tax compliance tools – stood out as particularly relevant. Watching a live demo, I noted how EPM shifts finance teams from manual drudgery to strategic insight, a transformation I’m eager to bring to our Project Salsa clients seeking efficiency and profitability. Which, I imagine, is just about everyone!
AI in action: Efficiency redefined
NetSuite’s expanded AI capabilities also left a strong impression. The speed and precision is remarkable – a clear time-saver for busy teams. Beyond that, AI-driven insights for planning, forecasting, and anomaly detection showcased how NetSuite is embedding intelligence into everyday workflows. These enhancements promise to elevate efficiency across ANZ businesses, a priority we champion at Project Salsa.
ANZ-specific innovations: Tailored for impact
The conference didn’t skimp on practical, region-focused updates. NetSuite Analytics Warehouse impressed with its new prebuilt dashboards, simplifying data analysis for actionable insights. SuiteProjects Pro, enhanced for better project management, caught my eye for its resource allocation and profitability tracking – ideal for our service-based clients.
These innovations reflect NetSuite’s deep understanding of ANZ business needs and combine into a sure-fire elevation of the cloud ERP value proposition. Of course, we’re big believers in NetSuite, so seeing the investment in our region and direct interest from the very top leadership in Evan Goldberg, really drives home our view that NetSuite is a great fit for businesses that want to modernise. And bear in mind, it’s not just for the ‘big boys’! Appropriately configured, NetSuite is ideal for the SME, while providing ample room for upward scale should you need it.
Looking ahead
SuiteConnect Sydney was more than a conference – it was a glimpse into the future of smart business in ANZ. With Oracle’s investment fuelling NetSuite’s evolution and a pipeline of forthcoming enhancements, the opportunities for our clients are substantial.
Of course, it remains a historically tough time for many businesses. The rise of AI tools can be a two-edged sword for many, but the advice here is clear: get a grip on AI, because as the saying goes, AI won’t take your job (or your business), but someone using AI might.
For those who couldn’t join us in Sydney, I’d welcome a conversation to share further insights and look at how new NetSuite developments could benefit your organisation. At Project Salsa, we’re ready to harness these advancements and drive success for businesses across the region.
